Artistic collaboration at Enjoy Jazz
After Frida Orupabo (2021) and Iñaki Bonillas (2022) Enjoy Jazz has won the South African artist Zanele Muholi for the annual artist:in cooperation with the festival. Muholi identifies as non-binary* and is a visual:r activist:in internationally known for exploring the Black queer body. The series of self-portraits "Somnyama Ngonyama/Hail the dark Lioness, 'has been shown at both the Venice Biennale, the Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Photography in Paris, the National Gallery of Iceland in Reykjavik, and many other museums worldwide. Currently, the works can be seen at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, MUDEC in Milan, and the Lucerne Museum of Art. As part of the Enjoy Jazz Festival, Zanele Muholi is exhibiting at the fashion house Engelhorn Mode im Quadrat in Mannheim.

For this year's Enjoy Jazz art poster, Zanele Muholi has designed a self-portrait made of self-portraits. The proceeds from the sale of a hand-signed version limited to 100 pieces will benefit queer projects in the region.
