Les Égarés

Two duos that didn't so much seek each other out as find each other - kora player Ballaké Sissoko has long been associated with cellist Vincent Segal, accordionist Vincent Peirani with saxophonist Émile Parisien. In 2019, they performed as a foursome for the first time at the "Les Nuits de Fourvière" festival in Lyon. The agreement: no rehearsal and no planning should spoil the magic of spontaneity. The music doesn't need to be categorized, say the four of them. It's all about feeling common vibrations, about tracking down expressive possibilities, and so the "lost ones" wander and dance around somewhere between the realms of jazz, folklore, chanson, chamber music and avant-garde on their debut "Les Égarés".

Because the two duos know each other so well, but the quartet constellation is new and full of surprises, both come together here: Familiarity and curiosity, the intimacy of the familiar and the mystery of the new.
