Piano Concerts

The piano plays a central role in jazz and has significantly shaped its development, including through the work of pioneering pianists such as Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington and Bill Evans. The piano has also always played an important role at Enjoy Jazz: close friends of the festival such as Brad Mehldau, Tania Giannouli and Michael Wollny are masters of this instrument and continue to delight audiences in the metropolitan region. This year's Artist in Residence, Nduduzo Makhathini, is also a pianist, like the majority of his predecessors.
