Resavoir

Recently, the Chicago producer, trumpeter and composer Will Miller, who is part of the indie band Whitney and has played for Lil Wayne, among others, finally followed up his 2019 debut with another album: The second album under the project name Resavoir was released in the fall of 2023, again featuring collaborators from the International Anthem environment, and again it has become a rather well thought-out neo-soul-post-rock-low-fi hip-hop work that pulses along silky smooth and infectiously moody, with slow dancefloor vibes, Latin American sexiness, meditative relaxation and a pleasantly chilled-out acid and ambient jazz feel, as we know it from the 90s. According to Miller, who studied jazz at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the mood of the music is intended to evoke the atmosphere between the golden and blue hour - but of course it also works excellently later in the evening.
