Avishai Cohen Quartet at the Christuskirche Mannheim

The final concert of the 26th Enjoy Jazz Festival took place yesterday, Saturday, november 2, 2024. Israeli star trumpeter Avishai Cohen took to the stage with his quartet of Yonathan Avishai (piano), Barak Mori (bass) and Ziv Ravitz (drums) at the Christuskirche Mannheim, which was sold out with an audience of 1,000. Cohen and his fellow musicians mainly presented their own pieces from their current album "Ashes to Gold", but also compositions by Maurice Ravel and Johann Sebastian Bach. After 90 minutes, the concert - and with it this year's festival - came to a worthy finale with two encores and standing ovations that were frenetically celebrated by the audience.
