In cooperation with Aeon Media, Enjoy Jazz is organizing an evening as part of the international live philosophy series "Sophia Club" on Friday, September 26, at the Betriebswerk Heidelberg. After sold-out events in New York, London and Melbourne, the "Sophia Club" is coming to Germany for the first time as a prelude to the upcoming Enjoy Jazz Festival. The English-language event for this year's festival motto "Knowing" is entitled "What bodies know" and is dedicated to the exploration of body knowledge and the question of how singing, dancing and deep listening enable people to broaden their perspectives on life. Guests will include musicologist and sound anthropologist Bernd Brabec, neuroscientist and philosopher Ophelia Deroy, percussionist Tony Buck from the Australian ambient jazz trio "The Necks" and pianist Magda Mayas. The latter will enrich the discussion with artistic interventions.
