Avishai Cohen Quartet

The skilled trumpeter, who excelled at a young age under the legendary conductors Zubin Metha, Kurt Masur and Kent Nagano, studied at the elite jazz school, Berklee College of Music in Boston, and was among the top three at the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition when he was just 19. At 24, he began regularly releasing albums under his own name. He is now part of the ECM family and has won numerous important critics' awards. Jazz Times magazine recently put it in a nutshell: "Cohen is a multicultural jazz musician whose role models include Miles Davis.

Like Davis, he can turn the trumpet into a vehicle for expressing the most poignantly expressive human emotions." He describes Cohen's current album "Naked Truth" as the result of two years of meditation and a healing post-pandemic experience.
