Claus Boesser-Ferrari & Jutta Glaser

Even before the outbreak of the pandemic, guitarist Claus Boesser-Ferrari accepted an invitation from the Irtijal Festival for Experimental Music in Beirut. There he met Sharif Sehnaoui, himself a guitarist, who not only introduced Boesser-Ferrari to the fascinating work of the painter and poet Etel Adnan (1925-2021), but also immediately put him in touch with Paris, where Adnan last lived. The first musical sketches, which Boesser-Ferrari produced together with his long-time companion Jutta Glaser, met with Adnan's approval, so that an entire program became possible.

The result is - not surprisingly - not conventional poetry settings, but rather abstract soundscapes and soundscapes corresponding to the texts, which will celebrate their premiere this evening as "Return & Crossings", supplemented by some classics by Fleetwood Mac or Charles Mingus.
