Zanele Muholi - Somnyama Ngonyama

We are very pleased to present in cooperation with engelhorn Mode im Quadrat the powerful and haunting works of Zanele Muholi in the inspiring ambience on the 4th floor at engelhorn.

Zanele Muholi is an:an internationally recognized:r South African photographer:in and activist:in whose:work focuses on exploring the identity, gender roles, and representation of Black people and LGBTQ+ communities.
With unique and expressive photographs, Muholi has received recognition and numerous awards worldwide. Exhibitions have taken place at Tate Modern London, Gropius Bau Berlin, and MEP Paris, among others. The exhibition features photographic portraits and self-portraits and is titled "Somnyama Ngonyama/Hail the dark Lioness."

Never before have the works been on view in Mannheim or the region in a solo exhibition.
