Festival closes with standing ovations at Enjoy Jazz
On Saturday, the "14th International Festival for Jazz and Other" in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region came to an end with an Enjoy Jazz-BASF co-production and world premiere that will go down in music history as a highlight. Jazz titans and civil rights activists Archie Shepp and Yusef Lateef played together for the first time in the packed BASF Feierabendhaus with a rhythm section comprising three generations, brought together especially for this evening by festival director Rainer Kern. It was the crowning glory of an extraordinary and extremely successful festival.
