Unfortunately, the concert planned for 03 November as part of Enjoy Jazz had to be cancelled due to illness. We are happy to welcome the recovered Jacob Collier in Mannheim!
Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones and Pat Metheny - these gentlemen have fallen in love with a young genius, and they never miss an opportunity to praise him. The prodigy goes by the name of Jacob Collier, a 21-year-old who lives in his mother's house in London and has set up a music room there, from which at some point the most wondrous sounds leaked out into the world via Youtube: groovy choral movements with the rhythmic drive of the Swingle Singers, percussive fireworks, layered instruments, virtuoso improvisations, a repertoire of cover songs from George Gershwin to Stevie Wonder to Brian Wilson, plus videos in which he also multiplied himself on the screen. Collier plays every instrument himself. Something magical must have happened in that room. On 30.01. you can finally experience this magic live on stage!
