Sad news reached us today. The Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko has died. Between 1967 and 1973, the musical free spirit's quartet was one of the most sought-after modern jazz combos in Europe. Stanko, who was one of the most important creators of European jazz, was musically active until the end. Stanko, who himself was a guest at Enjoy Jazz several times and would have played at our twentieth anniversary edition, died on July 29, 2018, an extraordinary musician and politically motivated freedom fighter whose life motto was "to play and search for life".
