Jan Bang, who grew up in Kristiansand in southern Norway, was long regarded as the man in the background, the shadow man of a rather closely networked scene that set out to fuse improvised music with the most advanced technology from 1996 onwards. The formula at the time: "New Conception of Jazz". His performance with the Ensemble Modern on October 6, 2019 at the Karlstorbahnhof is just one of his concerts at this year's Enjoy Jazz Festival. Directly after the Trondheim Voices concert on 05.10.19, he will be a guest together with Erik Honore with a PUNKT remix. The two DJs will interact with a live remix on a platform of improvisation and innovation with the music just heard by Trondheim Voices. One of the numerous church concerts this year will also be by Jan Bang. On 09.10.19 you can experience him live in a duo with guitarist Eivind Aarset in the Heiliggeistkirche in Heidelberg. He will be playing with his group Dark Star Safari at the Alte Feuerwache in Mannheim on 28.10.19.
