The matinee "Ella Fitzgerald & Thelonious Monk: The Incompatibility of Art with Life" was not only a great success with the audience. The press was also enthusiastic and recognized in the performance "an art form with its own aesthetic quality" (RNZ). As the event was overbooked several times, the Karlstorbahnhof and Enjoy Jazz decided to take an unusual step. The matinee will take place a second time - and in an expanded form: as a media-based reading, which this time will also include live music. Among other things, a chanson about Ella Fitzgerald will be performed live, which has been specially commissioned for this afternoon. So you can look forward to an exciting and inspiring encounter with two figures of the jazz century.
Cast:
Simone Müller (Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar), who will soon also be seen in "Tatort".
Olaf Weißenberg (Theater Heidelberg), who has already performed in "Jedermann" in Salzburg, among others
Paata Demurishvili (piano), who according to the specialist press is one of the "best pianists in Europe".
The event will take place on Sunday, 17 December, at 5 pm, which is the best time for Advent tea, right in the living room of Enjoy Jazz, the Karlstorbahnhof. Tickets for 12 euros are now available here. Unfortunately, the number of seats is limited again. So it's worth being quick. We look forward to a wonderful Advent Sunday afternoon with you.
