From heavy metal to hardcore to jazz and ambient: Bohren & der Club of Gore’s musical evolution is likely quite unique. Since 1988, the trio from Mülheim an der Ruhr has been creating instrumental horror soundtracks. Or as they call it: “doom-ridden jazz music,” “detective jazz,” or, alternatively, “boring instrumental music.” We say: no one knows how Bohren & der Club of Gore manage to build meditative, ethereal soundscapes that skim the edge of complete stillness.
