Nils Petter Molvær Trio

"Invisible Stitches" refers to delicate stitches that tell a story. The album “Stitches” by the exceptional Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær—who thrilled the audience last year at the festival in a duo with Greek pianist Tania Giannouli—was created during the 2021 pandemic and draws on a line from a poem by Robert Pinsky as a symbol of the invisibility of the people behind production processes. Molvær, the pioneer of electroacoustic “Future Jazz,” also recorded a moving version of Radiohead’s “True Love Waits” for his album. With his outstanding trio—featuring Erland Dahlen on drums and Jo Berger Myhre on bass and guitar—Molvær creates expansive, electronically dense soundscapes and meditative, dark soundscapes of profound intensity. Raw and vulnerable, melancholic and hopeful.

After the concert, the team from “Projekt Sokrates. Heidelberg Street Philosophy” will be happy to speak with you one-on-one about our festival theme, “Beauty,” in a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere.
