Japanese DJ and producer Hideaki Ishii, also known as DJ Krush, launched his solo career in the early 1990s and remains one of Japan’s most internationally acclaimed artists to this day. With unconventional beat structures and abstract samples from jazz and soul records, he became a pioneer of trip-hop and abstract hip-hop. His latest album, “Saisei,” is a mix of cinematic breakbeats and abstract rap cuts, as well as a drill instrumental.
