Enjoy Jazz Listening Bar with Jan Paersch

In a listening bar, visitors can listen to good music in a relaxed atmosphere and concentrate on the pure listening experience while enjoying high-quality drinks. The songs come from vinyl - in deliberate contrast to the current trend towards streaming and playlisting - and the works are played in their entirety. Slow listening, if you will. After the successful premiere at last year's anniversary festival, Enjoy Jazz is once again collaborating with Hirsch + Ille, the specialist for entertainment electronics, for this new edition. Four different hosts, all music journalists, will present a selected album, which will then be played on high-quality audio equipment that guarantees a first-class sound experience. Afterwards, there is space for the host and audience to discuss what they have heard.

Jan Paersch is a freelance cultural journalist from Hamburg. He works for taz, ZEIT and various print magazines, including Hinz&Kunzt and Jazzthing. He regularly presents and produces reports for DLF, DLF Kultur and NDR, and the indie program Nachtclub Raw for NDR Blue. His radio feature about Ibrahim Maalouf was nominated for the German Jazz Award 2024 (Journalism category).
