Concert in the dark: FlamenKora

Jazz trumpeter Volker Goetze (USA) has always been open to inspiration and influences from other genres and artistic genres. Together with kora master Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko (Senegal) and guitarist Roberto Monteiro (Brazil), he founded FlamenKora, the magical fusion of West African Mande music on the kora with authentic Spanish flamenco guitar and American-European jazz trumpet.
Through the sensitive and skillful interweaving of improvised trumpet playing and flamenco guitar with traditional mandinka kora and vocals from Senegal, FlamenKora creates timeless and enchanting multicultural music. A welcome balm in these troubled times.
