Ghost note
Monday, 14. October 2024, Karlstorbahnhof
The ghost note is one of the great mysteries of jazz, it is invisible and yet it is everywhere, the unplayed to barely played note without which a groove would be just a banal rhythm. A fitting name for a band led by the two drummers Robert Searight and Nate Werth from Snarky Puppy, who, together with an ensemble of the very first league, quite immodestly want to reinvent the funk of the future: "These songs illuminate our quest to become a drummer. We want to feel like a beat by J Dilla." Their fellow musicians have worked on productions by Prince, Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Kendrick Lamar, Marcus Miller and Toto and bring a wide variety of perspectives to the table: influences from Afrobeat, psychedelic and neo-soul guarantee that there is no boredom when dancing, but rather an infectious feel-good energy. Every show is an opportunity to let go and connect - for fans and fellow musicians alike.
