Jakob Manz

It's a bit funny when a musician born in 2001 talks about his "early years" under the heading "About" on his homepage. However, Jakob Manz has already experienced quite a bit: growing up in a musical household, first improvisation attempts on the recorder, intensive saxophone lessons, state youth jazz orchestra Baden-Württemberg, at 14 young student at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, at 16 part of the Bundesjugendjazzorchester, since 2019 studying jazz and pop saxophone in Cologne with Roger Hanschel, performances with Randy Brecker, Günter "Baby" Sommer or Wolfgang Dauner. In 2017 Manz, together with Hannes Stollsteimer, Frieder Klein and Paul Albrecht, caused a sensation in the Stuttgart area as The Jakob Manz Project - the quartet won various prizes. No wonder: what the four bring to the stage is rhythmically refined, straight, dynamic and cutting funk, driven to ecstasy by Jakob Manz' crystal-clear sax solos, washed with all pop and jazz waters. Already in 2020 they released their first album "Natural Energy" on ACT, now their debut at Enjoy Jazz: The euphoria on stage is likely to be rapidly transferred to the audience.
