Loreen Sima feat. Jakob Bänsch / Yoshi Tschira LARGE

Jazz from the Black Forest. It feels like coming home when Black Forest-born bassist and singer Loreen Sima, who studied in Stuttgart, returns to her homeland. She is the frontwoman of a new generation of jazz musicians who draw on tradition and skillfully carry it into the future. With electric bass, synthesizer, and vocals, she performs her own style of funk and fusion jazz as a tribute to legendary groups such as Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters and Weather Report. Her trio—featuring pianist Elias Störr and drummer Heinrich Eißmann—is joined here by two additional vocalists and the exciting young trumpeter Jakob Bänsch, who has already been awarded the German Jazz Prize. Another highlight: Stuttgart-based guitarist Yoshi Tschira, who thrilled the Enjoy Jazz last year with his quartet, will present his LARGE Ensemble.
