Jazz Association Anniversary: Loreen Sima feat. Jakob Bänsch / Yoshi Tschira LARGE
Thursday, October 15, 2026, Karlstorbahnhof
In cooperation with the Jazz Association of Baden-Württemberg
Coming home. Feeling a sense of familiarity, warmth, and good vibes. This is the image that Loreen Sima, a bassist and singer born in the Black Forest, aims to convey through her music. She coaxes groovy basslines from her electric bass that invite you to dance. For additional grounding tones, she turns to the synthesizer, which creates a thrilling contrast to the three-part vocal arrangements. These unfold like bells, guided by tight harmonies, and open up a space to a dreamlike world. She has long felt at home alongside her two bandmates in the rhythm section: with Elias Störr on piano and Heinrich Eißmann on drums, she forms a foundation that leaves room for solos that are at times virtuosic, at times lyrical. Award-winning newcomer Jakob Bänsch joins the ensemble as a guest. He and Sima took their first musical steps in jazz together in a band a little over ten years ago. For both of them, sharing the stage today therefore feels a bit like “coming home.”
Stuttgart-based guitarist Yoshi Tschira has brought together nine musicians in his own LARGE Ensemble. They weave their way through lush big band sounds, powerful rock passages, and a chamber-music-inspired focus on the essentials.
