Julie Sassoon Quartet

"Voyages" are expansive sonic journeys through the inner landscapes of the extraordinary British pianist Julie Sassoon. With her quartet, founded in 2015, she has been acclaimed for her lyrical, concentrated playing, which the *Guardian*—which named her latest album *Voyages* “Jazz Album of the Month”—says evokes the intensity of Keith Jarrett’s solo virtuosity and the minimalism of Steve Reich. After receiving a classical education as a pianist and violinist, Julie Sassoon first founded her trio “Azilut!”, which was in turn praised by *The Guardian* as “capable of working wonders.” She has performed the music of Julius Eastman, as well as with the band Oregon and as a soloist at the sold-out Elbphilharmonie.
