Julie Sassoon Quartet

In 2015, British pianist and composer Julie Sassoon founded the “Julie Sassoon Quartet” with Lothar Ohlmeier (tenor saxophone/bass clarinet), Meinrad Kneer (bass), and Rudi Fischerlehner (drums). Their debut album “Fourtune,” recorded at the RBB Kulturradio Studios in Berlin, was selected as a CD recommendation by Bayerischer Rundfunk. Since then, they have toured extensively, performing at jazz festivals and venues throughout Europe and the UK, with highlights including two sold-out shows at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Their latest album, “Voyages,” was released in December 2021 and was named one of the most outstanding contemporary jazz albums by the German Record Critics’ Award.
