A successful series returns. “Learn To Enjoy Jazz” provides a space for in-depth exploration of the world of jazz. Drawing on the striking and immensely creative power of jazz musicians born in or around 1926, the series takes an informed look at two role models whose 100th birthdays are being celebrated this year: John Coltrane and Miles Davis. To this end, we have invited two authors who have published seminal books on the subject: Peter Kempter (“John Coltrane: Biography of a Jazz Icon”) and Stefan Hentz (“Miles Davis: Sound of a Life”). We are pleased to have Berlin-based journalist and publisher Maxi Broecking moderate the event. – Be sure to mark your calendars: She’ll be a guest again on “ Enjoy Jazz ” on October 24, this time with a collage-style tribute to the visionary enlightener Fela Kuti.
