Matinee in Celebration of Miles Davis's 100th Birthday
Who was Miles Davis? How did he become Miles Davis, and why? In our multimedia matinee, we let the greatest innovator in jazz history speak for himself. Complemented by insights from his contemporaries, the result is a dialogue with music that is as enlightening as it is entertaining—one that comes as close as possible to what we call the truth. A fascinating, unvarnished look at the heights and depths of an artistically generous yet personally largely antisocial genius. Presented by Lou Strenger (known for “Sketch History”; the new prosecutor in the Börne & Thiel “Tatort” episode from Münster) and Raphael Gehrmann (returning as a member of the Theater Heidelberg ensemble in 2026). Compiled and introduced by Volker Doberstein.
In cooperation with the Heidelberg Theater & Orchestra
