Matinee: “If you understood everything I say, you’d be me.”
Sunday, October 11, 2026, Zwinger
Who was Miles Davis? How did he become Miles Davis, and why? In our multimedia matinee, we let the greatest innovator in jazz history speak for himself. Complemented by comments from his contemporaries, the result is a dialogue with music that is as insightful as it is entertaining—one that likely comes closest to what we call the truth. A fascinating—because unfiltered—look at the heights and the depths of an artistically generous yet personally largely antisocial genius. Presented by Lou Strenger (known for “Sketch History,” among other works; the new district attorney in the Boerne & Thiel “Tatort” episode from Münster) and Raphael Gehrmann (returning as a member of the Theater Heidelberg ensemble starting with the 2026/2027 season).
