Pablo Ziegler Trio
Wednesday, October 21, 2026, dasHaus
Pianist Pablo Ziegler is considered the most important composer and arranger of Nuevo Tango since Astor Piazzolla. Piazzolla opened the door—Ziegler stepped through and is now exploring uncharted territory in the garden of tango. As a former pianist in the ensembles of the legendary Argentine bandoneon virtuoso, Ziegler is very familiar with Piazzolla's compositions and shares his love of modern jazz sounds. But Ziegler doesn't just stick to Piazzolla's formal musical structures – he also juggles with them, abstracts them, and adds his own voice.
Together with two exceptional musicians, Quique Sinesi and Manu Comte, Pablo Ziegler and his trio embody the sophistication and emotional power of Nuevo Tango in an intimate chamber music format with a repertoire that includes Ziegler's signature works (La Rayuela, Milongueta) as well as new interpretations of Piazzolla's classics—all imbued with jazz-inspired freedom and interaction.
