Deface the Currency is the second joint album by The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis. Created in the summer of 2025 during a tour, the band followed drummer Brendan Canty's impulse to capture their growing live chemistry directly in the studio. After their acclaimed debut on Impulse!, the quartet now shows even more risk-taking and cohesion. In seven dense tracks, Lewis' expressive saxophone sound and the energetic rhythm work of Canty, Joe Lally (both members of the post-hardcore band Fugazi) and Anthony Pirog combine to create music that challenges conventions. At Enjoy Jazz , the quartet Enjoy Jazz now Enjoy Jazz the songs from their current work live in the metropolitan area.
