Vijay Iyer Trio

Pianist and composer Vijay Iyer describes all his projects on his homepage. The only one for which he merely strings together press reviews - all of them hymnal, of course - is the trio. It is currently the most outstanding of its kind and is almost lavishly filled with irritating individual artistic excellence. The New York Times was stunned: "It's as if this band wants to both seduce and unsettle us by taking away everything but the ability to think and see for ourselves."
