Two anniversaries, one event. On the occasion of the 25th edition of the Enjoy Jazz Festival, one of the most important European music albums will be performed live. "Khmer" by Nils Petter Molvær, released 25 years ago, has changed the musical landscape beyond the boundaries of jazz. Molvær's nu jazz combines electronic sounds with rhythmic patterns from trip-hop or drum'n'bass, and in this brilliantly crafted, sometimes pulsating, sometimes velvety weave, he adds melodies that are more reminiscent of pop music masterpieces. A mixture that has long had its place in music history and continues to have an impact today. Even in the motherland of jazz, there was no escaping this great artistic achievement. The magazine "L.A. Weekly" voted "Khmer" "Jazz Record of the Year 1998" at the time. With six top Norwegian musicians, including some from the original line-up, Nils Petter Molvær is finally bringing his legendary album back to the stage at the Pfalzbau.
