Two years ago they were on stage together at Enjoy Jazz in the Alte Feuerwache: jazz legend Archie Shepp and the highly talented French singer Marion Rampal. The encounter was touching, almost symbiotic. Now the two return to Mannheim, together with bassist Michel Benita, pianist Pierre François Blanchard and clarinetist Thomas Savy. "There Is Love" is the name of the program, based on a ballad in which the longing motif implicit in the blues, the melancholy, and the warmth of Archie Shepp's voice and saxophone come together almost organically.

Standards and original compositions by Shepp are brought into a timeless form with a fantastic quintet. This evening not only concludes the anniversary festival, but also celebrates the musician who has been one of Enjoy Jazz's most frequent guests - and has become a loyal friend of the festival.
