Ashley Kahn: A Love Supreme slideshow/presentation

Ashley Kahn is a music historian, author, and producer who teaches at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music. In addition to his work as an editor and journalist (for publications including *Rolling Stone* and *The New York Times*), he produces documentary films and writes books, including *A Love Supreme: The Story of John Coltrane’s Signature Album*.

John Coltrane (1926–1967) was one of the most important saxophonists and innovators in jazz. As early as 1959, he was involved in the recording of Miles Davis’s *Kind of Blue*. In the 1960s, he radically evolved his style and, with albums such as *A Love Supreme*, created some of the most influential works in modern jazz.
