Last year, Chicago-based saxophonist Isaiah Collier celebrated the 60th anniversary of John Coltrane’s legendary album *A Love Supreme*—a three-part suite and spiritual journey that showcased Coltrane at the height of his powers as an artist and composer. To mark John Coltrane’s 100th birthday, Isaiah Collier—who moves fluidly between spiritual jazz and contemporary composition—will bring the message of love to the Enjoy Jazz with his quartet “The Chosen Few” as the festival’s grand finale. With artful saxophone runs full of urgency, Collier—who recorded his own album “Cosmic Transitions” on Coltrane’s birthday using the historic original equipment from “A Love Supreme”—translates Coltrane’s masterpiece into the present.
