Location Lund Quartet

"If you make it there ...". A young Norwegian guitarist, born in 1977, goes to the USA after finishing school because he is passionate about graffiti and street art and ends up at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a scholarship. In 2002, he was the first electric guitarist ever to make it to the Juilliard School of Music in New York. In 2005, he won the prestigious Monk Competition. Since then, Lage Lund has been regarded as either a "rising star" of the scene, one of the best guitarists of his generation or one of those "who set the agenda for jazz improvisation in the 21st century" (Jazzcampus Mainz). He can be heard on recordings on the "Criss Cross" label with Ben Street, Bill Stewart, Larry Grenadier and Tyshawn Sorey. For his concert at Enjoy Jazz in co-production with the BASF cultural program, Lage has invited the Cologne pianist Pablo Held, whose trio has long been a benchmark of European jazz.
