Loco Cello

The trio Loco Cello ("the crazy cello") oscillates between jazz, classical and world music with breathtaking technical perfection. It emerged from the meeting of two virtuosos. Cellist François Salque, a Yale graduate, now teaches at the Conservatoire de Paris and has received numerous awards for his chamber music recordings in particular. Guitarist Samuel Strouk also comes from a classical background, but has also worked with jazz musicians such as Vincent Peirani and Bireli Lagrène. The versatility of the repertoire of sound languages here is almost impossible to survey and ranges from Eastern Europe to Argentina. François Salque describes the fascination of Loco Cello as follows: "Our creations invent a new, constantly evolving language." An artistic freedom that perfectly suits the venue, Hambach Castle, a symbol of democracy and freedom.
