Maciej Obara Quartet featuring Mathias Eick
Friday, October 23, 2026, Schwetzingen Palace Theater
The Maciej Obara Quartet feat. Mathias Eick is a new, expanded incarnation of the Polish-Scandinavian ensemble led by saxophonist Maciej Obara, who performs alongside Dominik Wania (piano), Ole Morten Vågan (double bass), and Gard Nilssen (drums). The quartet is joined by Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick, one of the most distinctive representatives of contemporary European jazz. This project marks a new chapter in the ensemble's history – the presentation of new compositions that expand and enrich its sound universe. After releasing three albums on ECM – Unloved, Three Crowns, and Frozen Silence – the quartet is now entering a new phase of development, exploring new areas of sound, form, and expression.
