CANCELLED: Matinee: Thomas Meinecke: "Odenwald"

Sunday, October 27, 2024, Enjoy Jazz Pop-up Space glass pavilion on the Landfried site

CANCELLED: Matinee: Thomas Meinecke: "Odenwald"

Author, pop writer, musician and DJ Thomas Meinecke is an extremely well-informed music connoisseur. His breakthrough came 25 years ago with "Tomboy". His gender studies, which became a novel, were far ahead of their time: "An extraordinary program for which no literary example can easily be found" (Die Zeit). Now comes "Odenwald" (Suhrkamp), a new magnum opus, which is based on Theodor
W. Adorno's place of dream and longing, Amorbach, into an exciting experimental arrangement. In the Odenwald idyll, new and familiar general themes of the author are dealt with in a clever and stylistically confident manner: the gender discourse, Adorno, the Wild West (sic!), psychoanalysis and the return of the body and the material. And above it all lies, well, what: music. Two weeks after publication, Thomas Meinecke will be reading from his new work in our pop-up space. And he will almost certainly bring some music with him.
