Sebastian Gramss METEORS

There is probably no bassist in this country more willing to experiment than Sebastian Gramss - you could experience this often enough at Enjoy Jazz , for example with his homage to Stefano Scodanibbio, in which 13 double bassists took to the stage, with his minimalist Double the Double Bass project or with States of Play, an ensemble of three trios - two rhythm sections, wind instruments plus a live prepared treble grand piano. "The next level of urban polyphony", raved critics, others heard "magical sounds of the greatest beauty".

METEORS is an offshoot of States of Play. The sextet released its first album "Message To The Outer Space" in May, a journey of discovery oscillating between sensual overwhelming force and abstract deconstructive lust, processual and open. The musicians see their complex, multi-layered soundscapes as a "cinematic sound event", always evolving in an "organic flow". You don't have to be an astronomer to predict that METEORS will also hit live.
