Sound of Metal

Ruben, a passionate drummer and member of a metal band, leads a nomadic life on tour with his girlfriend and bandmate Lou. But his world is shaken when he suddenly loses his hearing.

The film, directed by Darius Marder, who was also involved in the development of "The Place Beyond the Pines", takes viewers on Ruben's emotional journey through despair, acceptance and transformation. Confronted with the reality of his new circumstances, Ruben is introduced to a community of deaf people who offer him a new perspective and the possibility of a fresh start.
