Summertime TLV JazzFest presents Nigun Quartet IS POSTPONED

When it comes to jazz in Israel, Barak Weiss is not far behind: For twenty years, he has been tirelessly committed to the Israeli music scene, has organized countless concerts, has been artistic director of the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, has directed the Israel Showcase Festival for Jazz and Worldwide Music. And he is the founder of two other important festivals: the Polish Jazz Festival and the Summertime Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, which he now presents at Enjoy Jazz with the Nigun Quartet. The Nigun Quartet carries an essential motif of its activities already in its name: Nigun is Hebrew and means melody, especially referring to religious songs. The quartet around bassist Opher Schneider takes sacred melodies, rhythmizes them in an extremely dynamic way, spins the traditional threads and links them with an imaginative, extremely eloquent and contemporary jazz language.

In any case, the Times of Israel wrote enthusiastically that with Nigun you could encounter one of the best jazz quartets ever. Be curious!
