Summertime TLV JazzFest presents Nigun Quartet IS POSTPONED

When it comes to jazz in Israel, Barak Weiss is never far away: he has been tirelessly committed to the Israeli music scene for twenty years, has organized countless concerts, was artistic director of the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival and directed the Israel Showcase Festival for Jazz and Worldwide Music. And he is the founder of two other important festivals: the Polish Jazz Festival and the Summertime Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, which he is now presenting at Enjoy Jazz with the Nigun Quartet. The name of the Nigun Quartet already contains an essential motif of his work: Nigun is Hebrew and means melody, especially in reference to religious songs. The quartet, led by bassist Opher Schneider, takes sacred melodies, rhythmizes them in an extremely dynamic way, spins the traditional threads and combines them with an imaginative, extremely eloquent and contemporary jazz language.

In any case, the Times of Israel wrote enthusiastically that with Nigun you could encounter one of the best jazz quartets ever. Be curious!
