Anja Lechner & Raúl da Costa

Anja Lechner's interests range from chamber music to solo interpretations of contemporary cello literature, world premieres of works composed especially for her, free improvisation to drone experiments. Her ability to approach all kinds of genres and forms with enormous empathy and absolute dedication can also be heard on more than 30 recordings for ECM. Now Anja Lechner comes with the young Portuguese pianist Raúl da Costa, who shares with her a great aesthetic curiosity. His focus is on piano chamber music, his repertoire ranges from Baroque to New Music, from Bach to Zimmermann.

The focus of the joint evening will be on works by the Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, who has lived in exile since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression. Anja Lechner has been dealing with Silvestrov's work for many years, and this discussion will now take on yet another new facet with Raúl da Costa at her side.
