Erwin Ditzner's Carte Blanche

Erwin Ditzner's Carte Blanche

A certainly unintended, but productive side effect of the recent multimedia and polyphonic "Bauhaus" anniversary celebrations was that drummer Erwin Ditzner once again felt emphatically reminded of how important the collective and the interdisciplinary were in his career and biography, and still are today. So: Away with the obstructive genre pigeonholes! And always open for inspired encounters with other musicians! Both best describe the traditional "Carte blanche", which Ditzner has curated for many years as part of Enjoy Jazz.

In the anniversary year of the festival, he explores free improvisation with the inclusion of electronics - which on the one hand makes you think of Krautrock, but on the other hand does not exclude an improvisation on a Bach cantata. On top: The visuals by Nico Weber and Marc Nordbruch (NOW Collective Berlin) do not "illustrate" the events, but are an equal part of the improvisation. Nothing is guaranteed, but everything is allowed.
