Reconnecting Europe on 6 and 7 May

Two days full of concerts in Heidelberg and Mannheim, plus lectures and a panel discussion: our project "Reconnecting Europe" brings bands from the European UNESCO Creative Cities Network together in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region and thus a wide range of sounds influenced by different cultures together on stage.

It all starts on Friday, 6 May, 7:30 pm at Metropolink's Commissary in the Patrick Henry Village in Heidelberg. The Ukrainian-German formation Moloch & Nadiya, the Polish cellist and composer Karolina Rec with her solo project Resina, the Heidelberg band Fat Tea and the Shamgunova Quartet around the Kazakh band leader Kristina Shamgunova will be performing. The programme continues on Saturday, 7 May, 4 p.m. in the Stamitzsaal, Rosengarten Mannheim with a series of short public lectures and a concluding panel on the role of art and culture in the current situation with the participation of Ukrainian artist Yuriy Gurzhy. The second concert evening will take place at the Jazzclub Ella & Louis in Mannheim and will be opened by the Pesaro Jazz Club Band from Pesaro, Italy at 19:00. Also on stage: The Lisa Wilhelm Duo, the French saxophonist Rémi Fox and the Mannheim duo Moodinies.

Tickets for the events are available at all known Reservix advance booking offices and at www.enjoyjazz.de. Admission to the lectures is free.

"Reconnecting Europe" is funded in the impulse programme "Art despite distance" of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.
